Synopsis

The Tamarind Seed is a 1974 Blake Edwards film starring Julie Andrews as Judith Farrow, a British Home Office functionary and Omar Sharif as Feodor, a Soviet air attaché – lovers involved in Cold War intrigue. This was Lorimar’s first film. The score was composed by John Barry. The screenplay was based on the “The Tamarind Seed: A Novel,” by Evelyn Anthony. (New York: Dell, 1971) This film was one of many European films Blake Edwards made: he turned to European productions during the 1970s after making a string of box office bombs in the U.S.
